Today<\/span>\u00a0I\u2019m<\/span>\u00a0talking about a feature update that we\u2019ve just\u00a0<\/span>released<\/span>\u00a0\u2014 global search \u2014 and how\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>give\u00a0<\/span>you more time for design.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Global\u00a0<\/span>s<\/span>earch is a core part of the Synergy platform which allows you to search across the\u00a0<\/span>entire<\/span>\u00a0platform for your project\u00a0<\/span>items<\/span>, whatever they are. Th<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0includes everything inside\u00a0<\/span>Synergy that\u00a0<\/span>relates to your specific project<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>F<\/span>or example:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Documents<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Contacts\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n

  • Invoic<\/span>es<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • And now, emails<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    You simply type your search criteria\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>to the search bar, and the feature will\u00a0<\/span>scan<\/span>\u00a0through<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>all your<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>projects<\/span>. The search function<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will<\/span>\u00a0read all your\u00a0<\/span>items and<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will<\/span>\u00a0highlight the best possible match<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>These will be\u00a0<\/span>rank ordered<\/span>\u00a0on your screen.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>It\u2019s s<\/span>imple, fast and will help you locate what you need.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Fuzzy search makes it clear, even when you haven\u2019t<\/h3>\n

    An exciting addition to our search function in this release is what we call, \u201c<\/span>fuzzy search<\/span>\u201d. Fuzzy\u00a0<\/span>search<\/span>es<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>account<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0<\/span>those\u00a0<\/span>misspelt words<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>we\u00a0<\/span>tend to\u00a0<\/span>enter<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0For\u00a0<\/span>example;<\/span>\u00a0if\u00a0<\/span>you<\/span>\u00a0make two mistakes trying to spell\u00a0<\/span>\u2018<\/span>John Smith<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0and actually write\u00a0<\/span>\u2018<\/span>Jo<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Smoth<\/span>\u2019, fuzzy search wi<\/span>ll give\u00a0<\/span>yo<\/span>u<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>results<\/span>\u00a0for \u2018<\/span>Jo<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Smoth<\/span>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0first\u00a0<\/span>(<\/span>because that’s the exact\u00a0<\/span>and most relevant\u00a0<\/span>match<\/span>)<\/span>, but then\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>then\u00a0<\/span>give\u00a0<\/span>you\u00a0<\/span>a less exact match b<\/span>y\u00a0<\/span>predict<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0what\u00a0<\/span>you<\/span>\u2019<\/span>r<\/span>e<\/span>\u00a0searching for<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0based on what’s in the system.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Search includes project emails\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

    You can also<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>search through emails<\/span>\u00a0\u2014 from the \u2018to\u2019<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0\u2018from\u2019<\/span>\u00a0text<\/span>, t<\/span>o<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the subject line. And\u00a0<\/span>there is<\/span>\u00a0even a preview of the email that you can see on the search results screen, so you\u00a0<\/span>now\u00a0<\/span>know\u00a0<\/span>immediately<\/span>\u00a0if that\u2019s the\u00a0<\/span>email<\/span>\u00a0you\u2019re after.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    If<\/span>\u00a0you want to search through the body-text of\u00a0<\/span>an email<\/span>, you will have to wait for the new Project Information Module that we are releasing mid-year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>This option<\/span>\u00a0will have a\u00a0<\/span>lot of\u00a0<\/span>powerful document management and searching features.\u00a0<\/span>We will let you know once this becomes available<\/span><\/p>\n

    This latest feature is<\/span>\u00a0exciting because it’s a\u00a0<\/span>much<\/span>\u00a0quicker way of finding what you need<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Global\u00a0<\/span>s<\/span>earch is there to speed up your movement around the platform and\u00a0<\/span>give you more time to do the work you love \u2014 design<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
